dc.description.abstractThe development of Sri Lankan economy is heavily dependent on the revenue from tourism and hospitality industry. However, there is very limited research on applications of robotics and other advanced technology in the field. As today's competition in the hospitality industry depends on innovative technologies, this paper has explored the opportunities to deploy Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as “Drones” in various sectors of tourism and hospitality industry of Sri Lanka through a comprehensive literature review. Several opportunities have been identified and presented in this study and the strengths and weaknesses of the application of drones are also discussed.
